Phase 2 project - expansion

janmastami_postcard_back_for_web.jpg

ISKCON of Central New Jersey acquired a 7-acre land in Oldbridge, New Jersey.  With a hope to construct a temple, and build a spiritual community around the temple, this land was purchased on the auspicious day of Dussehra.

Sri-Sri Radha-Krishna Temple & Cultural Center

ISKCON of CNJ, Route 34, Oldbridge, NJ

We have completed and submitted our plans to the Oldbridge township for approval. Soil testing and environmental impact testing companies were hired to furnish these reports for our application. The projected elevations of the temple and Cultural center were prepared. Those who have been to Sri Jagannath Puri, can make out that temple domes to certain extent resemble that of Puri.

What will the temple and Cultural center provide?

  • A home for the Supreme Personality of Godhead where the community can gather and have the merciful glance of the Supreme Lord: Sri Sri Radha Krishna, Sri Sri Jagannath Baladev, Subhadra, and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai.
  • A large Darshan Hall ;
  • A facility to provide service to the Supreme Lord; like engaging in deity worship, sewing, cooking, garland-making, preaching, and unlimited other opportunities to serve the Supreme Lord;
  • A Spiritual University imparting vedic knowledge to community at large; to learn about difference between soul and body, reincarnation, vegetarianism, existence of God, and how to establish relationship with God;
  • A cultural center for cultural, and multi-media presentations;
  • A place for systematically raising the children with spiritual and moral values, teaching languages, musical instruments, vedic traditions and arts;
  • A place for celebrating major festivals with the proper mood and understanding of the festival;
  • A caring community to enhance loving exchanges between each other;
  • A yoga center ---- to teach “mantra meditation”;
  • A food for life program providing free meals for all at our center, and community outreach;
  • A place for performance of “Samskaras” from Birth to Death;
  • A place for learning cow-protection and cow-worship, and taking care of Tulasi;
  • A catering service to provide delicious sanctified food;
  • A state-of-the art library;
  • Beautiful gardens;
  • Guest Rooms;
  • 140 car parking facility;
  • Recreational grounds;
  • And much more!

What are the benefits of helping a temple?

“He who attempts to erect temples for the Lord is freed from the sins of a thousand births.”

“Those who think of building a temple in their minds are freed from the sins of a hundred births.”

“Those who approve of a man's building a temple for Krishna go to the region of Achyuta [Vishnu] freed from sins.”

“Having desired to build a temple for Hari, a man immediately takes a million of his generations, past and future, to the region of Vishnu.”
